Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for managing everything within the four walls for all Planet Fitness locations in a defined Planet Fitness District. District Managers will have between 3-8 PF locations per district including 3-8 Club Manager direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain outstanding and consistent customer experience throughout all Planet Fitness locations within the district.
  2. Operational consistency amongst all clubs within the region including but not limited to:
    1. Outstanding Member Experience
    2. Planet Fitness and PF Baseline Fitness brand standards
    3. Club Cleanliness
    4. Member and HR Policy Implementation
    5. Payroll
    6. Front Desk Management
    7. Facility maintenance and repair
    8. Vendor and Inventory
  3. Responsible for the hiring, coaching, development, reviews, and potential disciplinary actions of Club Managers within District.
  4. Develop and train staff to build bench for future Club Manager positions.
  5. Perform monthly club facility BER inspections and complete Club Manager monthly bonus sheets.
  6. Effectively manage communication with all operations personnel within district including consistent communication with Club Managers.
  7. District PE at PF Coordination and management (assist in hiring, training, and weekly planning). Track classes on weekly basis and maintain monthly PE at PF Trainer Calls.
  8. Responsible for ensuring 100% operations of all locations in a district which may require filling in as Club Manager in a situation where a club has no manager or assistant manager.
  9. Handle all incoming email complaints and mystery shops from district locations.

District Manager Work Schedule

  1. The District Managers job is to manage all aspects of the Planet Fitness business within the four walls of all PF locations in a district. District Manager schedules approved by Regional Manager monthly.
  2. The expectation is that about 70% of the District Managers time is spent in club.
  3. When not traveling or doing office work, District Managers should be working the standard Club Manager schedule in the clubs.

Essential Behavior Requirements:

Communication: arguably the most important job responsibility of the District Manager. Club Managers rely on the District Manager to keep them informed on day to day operation updates. Furthermore, the Regional Manager relies on the District Manager as their insight into the club operations.

Customer Service: communicates and interacts with customers (includes coworkers and the public) in a way that exceeds the customers wants and needs.

Listening: actively listens to customers (includes coworkers and the public) empathizes (sees the situation from the customers perspective) and works together to solve the problem.

Problem Solving: recognizes and defines problems; analyzes relevant information; encourages alternative solutions and plans to resolve situations; seeks additional assistance when needed.

Diplomacy: demonstrates tact and skill in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
