Chief Banking Officer

We are seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Chief Banking Officer to join a growing and highly respected community financial institution in the Central PA area. This executive leadership role will be responsible for driving enterprise-wide banking performance, leading key lines of business, and helping shape the future growth strategy of the organization.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished banking executive with experience leading retail, commercial, mortgage, treasury, and consumer banking operations. This individual will be a collaborative leader who thrives in a community-focused culture, develops high-performing teams, and brings a strong balance of strategic vision, operational discipline, and customer-centric leadership.

CBO Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, partnering with the CEO, executive leadership, and Board to drive long-term strategic initiatives
  • Lead and oversee retail, commercial, mortgage, treasury, and consumer banking operations
  • Drive market share growth, portfolio expansion, customer acquisition, and customer retention strategies
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to deepen customer relationships and enhance organizational performance
  • Champion exceptional customer experience across all banking channels and locations
  • Support innovation initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and operational modernization
  • Partner with credit and risk leadership to maintain strong portfolio quality and sound underwriting practices
  • Monitor asset quality, concentration risk, loan portfolio performance, and lending strategies
  • Represent the organization with regulators, auditors, industry organizations, and community stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing banking teams while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence
CBO Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive banking leadership experience
  • Proven success leading multiple banking lines of business including commercial, retail, consumer, mortgage, or treasury services
  • Strong understanding of lending, credit, portfolio management, risk, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience driving growth, profitability, operational excellence, and customer engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors
  • Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills
  • Experience leading organizational change, modernization, and digital banking initiatives preferred
