General Summary:

The Senior Dir, Business Intelligence & Analytics – Operations plays a pivotal role in driving our business's strategic objectives. This position is responsible for overseeing all key field reporting, providing crucial analytical insights, and supporting actionable strategies based on these analyses. As the subject matter expert in areas of reporting and analytics, the incumbent is expected to influence decision-making through data-driven insights, thereby enhancing store operations and overall business efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of analytics, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to translate complex data into comprehensible narratives and action plans.

*Location: SSC (In office)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Partners with Store Operations leadership to bring analytical solutions to solve business issues:

  • Identify opportunities within business geographies, categories and functions to be highlighted through data and data features.
  • Work closely with broader Decision Science organization to bring cross-functional analytical view to challenges and opportunities.
  • Communicate analysis using comprehensive, easy to understand methods that translate the complex into actionable insights.

Oversees design and development of all Store Operations reporting and analysis:

  • Leverage multiple internal systems to provide detailed, comprehensive view to sales and profit enhancing activities (store/field focused).
  • Responsible for design, maintenance, and enhancement of all KPI and score carding initiatives and reporting for operational performance and improvement.
  • Responsible for overseeing all “test and learn” analytical measurements within Store Operations; SME for all measurement, analysis and reporting.

Leads analytics and reporting teams in development and ongoing delivery of insights:

  • Responsible for attracting, retaining and developing associates.
  • Establishing reporting delivery rhythms and accountability.
  • Ensuring processes in place to drive ongoing associate development and department engagement.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively across business groups and functions to gain alignment towards goals.
  • Exception analytical thinking and skills – uses quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions, develop strategies and set targets.
  • Advanced proficiency in exploratory data analysis and model design to solve operational and strategic opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Change management – Ability to implement significant structural and behavioral change.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to challenge respectfully – critical skill to drive change and adoption of new processes and approaches.

Work Experience and/or Education:

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years or more of retail analytics, data science and or reporting experience, preferably in a large retailer showing strong career progression and increasing responsibilities for managing teams.
