Dead Letter is a new restaurant concept from the girl & the fig, located on the Sonoma Square. We are currently hiring experienced Bartenders to join our opening team.
Dead Letter reflects our continued focus on thoughtful food, strong team culture, and a commitment to quality in every part of the guest experience. This is an opportunity to be part of a new kitchen from the beginning and contribute to building a supportive, well-run environment.
About the Role
We are seeking team members for front-of-house positions who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a collaborative service team. These roles are essential to daily operations and focus on providing a consistent, welcoming guest experience in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are dependable, team-oriented, and committed to thoughtful, attentive service.
Pay & Schedule
  • $20/hour + tips
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • PM availability Wednesday through Sunday

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beer according to house standards
  • Provide friendly, professional guest service at the bar and dining room
  • Assist guests with wine selection and food pairings
  • Set up, stock, and maintain a clean and organized bar area
  • Follow proper alcohol service guidelines and comply with ABC regulations
  • Enter orders and manage tabs using a POS system
  • Maintain consistency in drink preparation and portion control

Required Experience & Skills
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a restaurant or bar setting
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, and classic cocktails
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays

Certifications
  • California Food Handler Certification (required or ability to obtain)
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification (required or ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently lift 10-20 lbs
