Position Title: Evening Server
Reports to: Fine Dining Restaurant General Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The job duties listed below are an overview of the essential duties and measures required to be successful in the position. Please note that the listed examples do not include all tasks that may be expected within this position.
  • Maintains knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and any changes in menu or service

  • To maintain high team focus via cooperation and support to other team members in the pursuit of department goals

  • To have a positive impact, taking responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with the leadership team and team members

  • To be decisive, accepting responsibility for making things happen, thinking ahead, and developing contingency plans

  • Attends daily line-up meetings to ensure adequate preparation for service

  • Sets up the restaurant for service: tables, silverware, glassware, linen, etc.

  • Completes side work in a timely fashion as directed by Food & Beverage Director before and after service, including glassware, silverware, and china polishing

  • Serves water, bread, coffee, and teas, and all dishes according to the Farmhouse Inn standards

  • Uses guest position numbers fluently and does not need to ask questions of guests to verify accuracy and placement of food or drink orders

  • Monitors and observes guests ensure satisfaction, responds promptly and courteously to any guest request

  • Maintains table set up by removing all items not needed, crumbing, changing linens and other table items as needed, and marking for items required for the next course

  • Maintains constant communication with the servers, sommeliers, and the kitchen to allow for the perfect timing of the food delivery

  • Helps with receiving, unpacking, delivery, and storing of goods for the restaurant

  • Helps monitor all guest areas in the restaurant and maintains a "snapshot of perfection" at all times, including dining room, restrooms, coat areas, and any area visible to our guests

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
  • High School Degree or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a fine dining restaurant as a server, busser, or related role

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and with composure

  • Ability to work interdepartmentally, with Restaurant, Kitchen, Spa and other Farmhouse teams

  • Maintain regular attendance, is consistently on time and complies with Farmhouse Inn standards

  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs, weekend and holiday availability (Sundays are mandatory). Please note that our restaurant is closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • Must be able to follow the directions carefully and be able to receive coaching when necessary.

  • Must communicate with the team during service to ensure effective, positive results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation

  • Pushing/Pulling: Up to 20lbs frequently and 50lbs - occasionally

  • Lifting/Carrying: Average weight 30lbs - frequently

  • Standing/Walking: Constantly

  • Kneeling/Bending: Frequently

  • Reaching: constantly

  • Able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time (up to 5 hours)

PAY RANGE:
The starting pay for this position is $16.50 per hour + Service Charge + Tips. This is the pay for this position that Farmhouse Inn reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
