Modern Provisions Restaurant at the Westin Dulles is currently seeking a Restaurant Server.
Amid the bustle of a global travel hub, you'll find the respite of Modern Provisions Restaurant. Enter and find yourself immediately transported to the chic environs of a modern Italian city in this contemporary eatery that serves classic Italian dishes with an eye towards showcasing the freshest ingredients available from local sources.
The purpose of the Restaurant Server is to assure the overall success of the hotel by meeting or exceeding the guest expectation for restaurant service. The Restaurant Server must ensure guest satisfaction through dining room cleanliness and attention to our guests needs.
Major Responsibilities
  • Ensures that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing AURO Hotels professionally with our guests and assuring that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.

  • Understands and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, gets medical attention if necessary and contacts the GM or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster and promote a positive working environment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through dining room cleanliness and attention to guests' needs.
  • Thoroughly and correctly sets up the assigned work station prior to opening and cleans station at end of shift according to AURO and Franchisors operational policies and standards to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
  • Completes all necessary side-work as per restaurant schedule.
  • Knowledgeable about all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods.
  • Answers guest's questions regarding such with confidence and accuracy.
  • Is aware of all daily specials, soups, drinks, wines and "86" items.
  • Greets guests promptly at table.
  • Utilizes suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages.
  • Takes order accurately and inputs into kitchen food management and ordering system. Follows proper procedures in completing guest checks and submitting information to kitchen.
  • Check guest order prior to serving to insure that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
  • Serve guest order promptly according to service standards. Returns as appropriate to ensure all of guest's needs are being met and to suggestively sell other items.
  • Pre-busses and busses all tables as per restaurant standards and prepares for future customers.
  • Notifies manager of all food and beverage supplies needed to ensure efficient operation of restaurant.
  • Has working knowledge of property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complies with Company Standards of Service as outlined for AURO Hotels.
  • Projects a favorable image of AURO Hotels to the public at all times.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

  • Treats guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Completes Departmental, AURO Hotels and Brand standards training as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Abides by all County, State, Federal and Company laws and policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Follows all AURO, Brand and Local Health and Sanitation regulations
