General Manager – Upscale Dining Restaurant

Location: Charlotte, NC
Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site


About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing hospitality group is seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead a high-performing upscale dining operation in the Charlotte market.


This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality leader who thrives in a polished, high-energy restaurant environment and enjoys developing teams, creating memorable guest experiences, and driving strong operational and financial results.


The ideal candidate brings a hands-on leadership style, strong business acumen, and experience managing an upscale, polished casual, chef-driven, or fine-dining restaurant.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Maintain high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop restaurant managers and team members
  • Build a positive, accountable, and performance-driven workplace culture
  • Monitor labor, operating costs, sales, and overall restaurant performance
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on business needs
  • Manage scheduling, payroll-related processes, and other administrative responsibilities
  • Partner with culinary and operational leadership to maintain consistent execution
  • Proactively address guest concerns and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability, retention, and operating efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable health and safety standards
  • Support local marketing and community engagement initiatives as needed


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of restaurant or hospitality leadership experience
  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Dining Room Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Experience within upscale casual, polished casual, chef-driven, or fine-dining restaurants strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and financial performance
  • Excellent communication and guest-service skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on restaurant needs
  • Ability to reliably commute to the Charlotte area


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience.
