Restaurant Operations Manager (Onsite - Washington, DC)

The Park at 14th is a vibrant restaurant, lounge, and event facility located in the heart of Washington, D.C. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Park Manager to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, and driving the continued success of our business.

What You Will Do:

  • Leadership & Guest Service:
    • Provide inspirational leadership and coaching to all staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Set the standard for exceptional customer service and ensure that every guest has a memorable experience.
    • Lead by example and train staff to deliver outstanding service that exceeds guest expectations.
    • Mediate guest complaints and take appropriate action to resolve issues promptly and courteously.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and cost management.
    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our operating systems (PosiTouch, Open Table, Highrise) to ensure efficient operations.
    • Manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and cost-effectiveness.
    • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of all staff members.
    • Ensure compliance with all local health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain cleaning schedules and coordinate with vendors for routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Food & Beverage Management:
    • Work closely with the chef to ensure consistent high-quality food preparation, presentation, and service.
    • Collaborate with the bar manager to establish weekly liquor needs and maintain beverage standards.
    • Ensure compliance with Park operational standards and all applicable laws regarding food handling and alcohol service.
    • Must have or obtain ServeSafe certification and ABC Manager's license.
  • Business Growth & Development:
    • Act as an ambassador for The Park, fostering relationships with customers and building our community presence.
    • Facilitate ongoing communication with the owner and contribute to the development of growth strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management.
  • Proven experience in staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Strong operational skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
