We are currently seeking Sales & Events Manager candidates who will dedicate themselves to exceptional hospitality as a member of our new Houston Town & Country leadership team. The Sales & Events Manager collaborates closely with the General Manager to ensure a successful private dining program. The right candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience as a Sales & Events Manager or Event Coordinator in the restaurant industry with a minimum of two years’ experience in fine dining sales.

POSITION - SALES & EVENTS MANAGER

COMPENSATION: Base Salary: 45-60k/Annually (Commensurate to experience) Commission: 4% of Sales.  Potential to make 85k-110K/year.  Ability to grow compensation through increased sales/events.  

 

SUPPORTED BY: Unit Leadership/Managing Partner, Director of Sales & Events, and Operating Partner

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:   

  • A college degree is not necessary but preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Sales & Events Manager or Event Coordinator in the restaurant industry with a minimum of two years’ experience in fine dining sales.
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of private dining sales.
  • Ability to type, use computers and learn software.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                   

  • Available to work 40-50 hours per week.
  • Subject to seasonal fluctuations.
  • Must be able to stand for six (6) hours.
  • Must be able to lift at least forty (40) pounds.
  • Ability to office remotely part-time and work at the restaurant for a minimum of 20 hours per week for in-person customer meetings, leadership meetings, and scheduled events.  Our SEM's are extension of the restaurant's leadership team.  
  • Being responsive to unit or customer questions or concerns that may arise during an event.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Sales experience with a proven record of sales performance.
  • Catering/private events sales experience.
  • Previous experience in high-end hospitality.
  • Proven ability in leadership, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • High energy and outgoing personality.
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong technical literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, Event Management Software, Aloha POS, OpenTable.
  • Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees, and other community leaders.

 FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for selling all aspects of private events held within the restaurant including social, corporate, weddings, pharma meetings, and other market segments.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive revenue by prospecting and fostering relationships with individuals and corporations.
  • Actively participate in Truluck’s Local Store Marketing (LSM) program.
  • Meet with potential guests to orchestrate menu planning and all other supplemental needs for their private event (décor, flowers, music, AV equipment, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Private Dining Events are committed to obtaining a signed contract.
  • Communicate appropriately through Chef and Leadership – utilizing the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Ensure all booked Private Dining Events are held with a credit card as specified in the contract event policies.
  • Assumes 100% responsibility that the payment for all private parties has been accounted for and communicated to Leadership.
  • Actively involved with networking associations that are a part of the restaurant industry, for example, the local CVB, Chamber, Meeting Planners Associations – MPI, NACE, ILEA
  • Attend the weekly unit leadership meeting.
  • Attending the monthly SEM conference call.
