Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and screenings to identify patient needs, developing individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver short-term individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention services for patients experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops that promote wellness and address relevant topics such as anxiety management, coping strategies, and personal development themes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical staff, social services, and community organizations, to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness of patient care.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives to raise mental health awareness, organizing wellness events in the community to reduce stigma and promote mental health education.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to ethical and legal standards throughout your practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A valid and active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven understanding of the specific mental health challenges and issues prevalent among hospital or community health clinic patients.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and collaboration with diverse patients and professional colleagues.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including brief therapy models suitable for effective treatment delivery.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a diverse caseload and prioritizing patient care effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, ideally in a hospital or community health setting.
  • Experience creating and leading therapy groups that address various mental health needs.
  • Previous work in crisis intervention and emergency mental health services would be highly beneficial.
