We are currently seeking a Sr. Director of Human Resource (HR) for our national operations, this position can be remote with up to 25% travel required.


The Human Resource Director is responsible for leading the organization’s HR strategy and operations to support business goals and foster a positive workplace culture. This role provides strategic direction in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, compliance, and organizational development. The HR Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent while maintaining compliance with employment laws and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Lead and manage the HR department, including recruitment, employee relations, training, compensation, and compliance.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition efforts to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Design and administer performance management systems to support employee growth and accountability.
  • Direct the development and delivery of training programs that enhance employee skills and support career advancement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Promote employee engagement, recognition programs, and initiatives that support a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes with fairness and consistency.
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics, reports, and analytics to support decision-making.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the organization.
  • Manage HR budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives, managers, and employees on HR-related issues.
  • Provide on-call support as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Talent Management

  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and retention strategies.
  • Design and implement performance management systems.
  • Develop employee training and professional development programs.

Employee Relations

  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Oversee conflict resolution, employee concerns, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, policies, and workplace standards.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Direct the design and administration of compensation structures and benefits programs.
  • Monitor market trends to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Oversee annual salary planning and incentive programs.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage workplace investigations and mitigate risk.

HR Operations

  • Lead HR team and oversee daily departmental operations.
  • Manage HR systems, metrics, and reporting.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and employee records.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage HR department budget.
  • Optimize resource allocation to support HR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or director-level role. Demonstrated experience in strategic HR planning, talent management, and organizational development. Proven track record of managing employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Including extensive experience and knowledge of California law.
  • Experience with immigration visa programs such as H2-B and Puerto Rico law.
  • Multistate experience including California (National, Regional or Area)
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Other Skills: Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Previous Hospitality and/or Staffing Experience a plus
  • Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification (preferred).

Working Conditions

  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Primarily office-based environment with frequent use of computers, phones, and other standard office equipment.
  • Regular interaction with executives, managers, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Full-time schedule; additional hours may be required during peak business periods, audits, or organizational changes.
  • May require occasional travel for recruitment events, training, conferences, or multi-site support.
  • Work involves high levels of confidentiality, decision-making responsibility, and handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Fast-paced environment that requires balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaboration across departments and with senior leadership is essential.

Physical Requirements

Physical Demands:

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $150,000-$175,000 . This range represents the minimum and maximum pay that Hospitality Staffing Solutions reasonably and in good faith believes it will pay for this role at the time of posting.

Additional Compensation:

This position may also be eligible for annual bonus up to 20% of annual salary.
