Job description

This position is responsible for supporting the structuring, pricing, and execution of M&A, reinsurance, and similar growth opportunities for Resolution Life, with a particular focus on transactions originating in the US. The position will provide these services to the range of insurance subsidiaries of Resolution Life, including support for Resolution Life's Bermudian activities in this area. The position will be a member of the newly formed Growth Solutions Team, supporting the senior leadership of Resolution Life to develop strategic growth opportunities, and will be a key supporting resource in the execution and implementation of these strategies.
Position Responsibilities
  • Leads and supports the structuring and analysis of M&A, reinsurance, and similar growth opportunities for Resolution Life, with a particular focus on transactions originating in the US.
  • Leads and supports the analysis of transactions to achieve optimal transaction structures considering regulatory jurisdiction, accounting and capital framework, risk tolerance, strategic and business fit, and competitive considerations
  • Supports transaction execution, working closely with onboarding teams (Actuarial, Finance, Investments, Operations), and the execution of transaction-related structured solutions
  • Collaborates with the key subject matter experts as they work with the Legal team in developing the broad range of transaction documents associated with a transaction
  • Supports the preparation of transaction / growth related committees, including due diligence committees, to ensure effective implementation and execution of related projects
  • Documents pricing / underwriting assumptions, methodologies and results in a clear and transparent manner e.g. pricing memos, assumption summaries, and testing reports including structuring, regulatory impact assessment and the investment strategy of deals
  • Ensures structuring / pricing / underwriting strategies comply with Company appetite and within an accepted framework with inputs from CRO & Chief Actuary
  • Presents complex data and ideas in a coherent manner with understandable visuals to senior management
  • Works effectively with the rest of the Growth Solutions team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence

Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelors' degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related business discipline
  • FSA or near FSA, with 5-7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of U.S. insurance products and asset intensive reinsurance transactions
  • Solid skills with MS Office Software's (PowerBI, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Self starter and ability to learn and prioritize under a high pace working environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with manager, team members and partners/customers
  • Prior experience and knowledge in Reinsurance and M&A experience is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience and knowledge in tax, accounting and capital system (US and Bermuda) is a plus
  • Prior experience with risk management and measurement framework is a plus

These estimates consider a wide range of factors in making base salary decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.
