About the Role

We are looking for an Environmental Technician to join Resolution Health, Safety, Environmental and Security team.

This role provides support for ongoing Resolution Copper Environmental activities with a focus on air compliance through Clean Air Act (CAA), site specific policies and procedures for Resolution Copper Company. In addition, the role will support field sampling, field inspections and/or data collection for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Water Act (CWA) which includes Aquifer Protection Permit (APP), Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit, Recycle Water Permit and Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) (stormwater) compliance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate and maintain meteorological stations, troubleshoot issues as well as order and install necessary equipment and parts.
  • Maintain EPA method 9 certification for field observations, conduct inspections, conduct NESHAP (asbestos) sampling and assist with reporting for compliance purposes.
  • Install, calibrate and maintain site telemetry stations, troubleshoot issues as well as order and install necessary equipment and parts.
  • Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot water sampling equipment, collect regular water samples, conduct regular monthly inspections and assist with data organization for compliance purposes.
  • Assisting with collecting waste samples, conduct weekly inspections, facilitating waste shipments for universal, hazardous and non-hazardous environmental wastes and assist with data organization for compliance purposes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including all site departments.

The Environmental Technician is required to maintain annual training refreshers for:

  • HAZWOPER
  • RCRA/DOT
  • Asbestos building inspector
  • EPA Method 9
  • MSHA

Where you will be working

Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of the US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value of several billion dollars over the estimated mine life.

The project will rely on a technique called block caving to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 meters deep. This technique uses gravity to help remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.

Resolution Copper will continue underground development, conduct extensive drilling and orebody testing, plus maintain the permitting and public engagement process.
