Job description

Position Description:

Would you like to have a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an exciting opportunity for you!  Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Metallurgist to join our team at the Phoenix Mine, located in Battle Mountain, NV.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day metallurgical operations of the heap leach pad, including ore stacking, solution application, and drain-down management
  • Monitor and optimize leach recovery through reagent dosing, solution chemistry control, and drip emitter/sprinkler system management
  • Conduct metallurgical test programs (column leach, bottle roll) and interpret results to inform operational decisions
  • Develop and maintain metallurgical mass balances, recovery forecasts, and monthly performance reports for management and regulatory submissions
  • Collaborate with mine planning and geology teams on ore characterization, grade control, and lift scheduling to maximize leach pad efficiency
  • Support water management activities including process water balancing, tailings facility technical support, and water purification/evaporation functions
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits, site standards, and HSE requirements; participate in audits and regulatory inspections
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Process-related degree required
  • Hands-on practical application and process optimization
  • Ability to research, analyze information and draw conclusions, and take action to resolve operational, environmental issues, permit compliance, and problem resolution from an operating plan status required
  • Proficiency in multiple software application and network platforms highly preferred
  • Experience in manipulating and analyzing large datasets programmatically is highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
