Production Coordinator
Position Summary
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the manufacturing facility by coordinating communication, materials, personnel, and workflow between the Production, Warehouse, and Department teams. This position helps ensure production has the materials, documentation, staffing support, and resources needed to meet production schedules while maintaining food safety, quality, and safety standards. The Production Coordinator plays a key role in reducing downtime, improving organization, strengthening communication between departments, and helping establish consistency in daily processes, employee assignments, and personnel management practices. This position works closely with department leadership to identify operational gaps, improve accountability, and help ensure employees and departments are following established procedures and expectations consistently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Help promote consistency in the day-to-day management and organization of production personnel, including employee assignments, workflow expectations, and adherence to established processes and procedures.
- Work with Production leadership to identify personnel or workflow issues that impact productivity, communication, or accountability and help ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Help ensure employees receive consistent direction and understand daily priorities, production expectations, and departmental procedures.
- Assist supervisors with employee assignments, staffing coordination, and workflow organization as needed.
- Communicate recurring personnel or operational concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager for follow-up and resolution.
- Coordinate daily communication between Production, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and other department teams.
- Ensure production lines receive materials, ingredients, and packaging on time.
- Monitor production schedules and communicate changes or priorities to the appropriate teams.
- Track inventory shortages and work with the warehouse to resolve material issues quickly.
- Verify production paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Assist with production planning and scheduling to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor workflow throughout the shift and help resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Support inventory accuracy by assisting with cycle counts, inventory transactions, and reconciliation as needed.
- Coordinate product movement between production and warehouse areas.
- Follow up on production issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Assist supervisors with employee assignments and workflow organization when needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees on production processes as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities
- Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, SQF, and food safety procedures.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to quality specifications.
- Report food safety, quality, or sanitation concerns immediately.
- Help maintain compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
- Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and identify unsafe conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report accidents, injuries, and near misses immediately.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Previous experience coordinating production, warehouse, inventory, or logistics activities preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and solve operational problems.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy manufacturing environments.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
