We have been retained by our client, a leading international designer and marketer of decorative fabrics and furnishings to the interior design trade, to identify and recruit an Indepedent Residential Sales Represenative for the suburban Chicago area. For three-quarters of a Century, our client has been the source for the world's finest fabrics; long recognized as the industry leader of innovation, they have showrooms throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as a world-wide agent showroom network who sell their products under several well-known brand names. The Residential Sales Representative will focus on establishing working relationships with Designers outside of Cook County, developing strong client relationships with Designers, increasing their knowledge and use of design resources offered by the Company including products, services and company showrooms; educate Designers on technical tools available through the company to efficiently access product information and manage design projects; and partner with company showrooms to provide clients with the highest level of service.

You will achieve great success by leveraging prior experience as an independent sales representative utilizing your established business relationships, book of business, and through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, create new business relationships while achieving sales and market share goals of the company. As a Residential Sales Representative your background should include 5 or more years' experience as an independent sales representative in the textile, home furnishings or luxury goods or related industry; a strong entrepreneurial drive to and record of accomplishment of personal and financial success in a sales role; capability to develop, balance and maintain sound, long-term client relationships; and ability to consistently reach and exceed sales and market share goals. Analytical, professional written and verbal presentation and communication skills, and utilization of current technologies are essential.

An Interior Design degree or related certification will prove helpful. You should be a well organized, self-directed and motivated to achieve. The Residential Sales Representative will be an independent sales professional who might currently have other lines of business compatible with those of our client, but not in direct competition, and/or the ability to acquire other lines of business to supplement their professional sales portfolio.
