We're looking for a detail-oriented Drafting Technician to support our growing Remodeling division by creating accurate construction plans that help bring our customers' visions to life.

Position Summary

The Drafting Technician โ€“ Remodeling is responsible for preparing detailed construction drawings and supporting documentation for residential remodeling projects. This role works closely with our Remodeling Sales, Estimating, and Production teams to ensure plans are complete, accurate, and ready for construction.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare construction drawings for residential remodeling projects using CAD software
  • Create floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and permit drawing
  • Conduct field measurements and verify existing conditions when needed.
  • Revise plans based on customer selections, design changes, engineering requirements, and field conditions
  • Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Production, and Design throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure plans comply with applicable building codes and company standards
  • Prepare permit packages and assist with the permitting process
  • Maintain organized project files and drawing revisions
  • Communicate effectively with team members and outside consultants to keep projects moving forward

What We're Looking For

  • Associate degree or technical training in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Two or more years of residential drafting experience
  • Residential remodeling experience is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
  • Understanding of residential construction methods and building codes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
