Job description

Scope of role

The Linear Motion Division is a major contributor to the Automation & Controls Segment, with approximately 1,500 global associates and $400M in revenue. There are 9 main sites located across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, & Europe.

The Program Manager will be responsible for product and market development activities for the Linear Motion Division's Aerospace & Defense segment and Cleveland Manufacturing Site customer base. This role will be responsible for acting as the direct customer liaison responsible for developing industry relationships, identifying growth opportunities, tracking emerging technologies, and coordinating the design and commercialization of innovative industry solutions. Works closely with the A&D Vertical Segment Business Unit Manager, Industry Manager, and Strategic / Key Account Managers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in planning and prioritization of cross-functionally and globally executed projects. As required, create and drive detailed action plans, schedules, people, and tasks.
  • Develops and maintains deep intimacy with the A&D segment and Cleveland customer base and provides thought leadership on problem solving complex issues.
  • Manage various projects as directed by Business Unit Manager.
  • Develop and align strategic business objectives with customer needs and work closely with marketing team to ensure a clear, coordinated customer messaging.
  • Builds strong working relationships across the business to drive opportunity closure, accelerate speed to market and assure value capture.
  • Constantly looking to improve existing processes or establish new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation. Develops or champions new concepts or technologies based on analysis of current and emerging customer challenges.
  • Solves hard, complex problems by analyzing broad variables to include market drivers, business impact, and technological feasibility.
  • Cultivate existing relationships and prospect for potential customers.
  • Develop program objectives by reviewing technical specifications, customer requirements and internal needs. Creates timelines, schedules, and program plans accordingly. Manage multiple programs from development stage to delivery.
  • Identify risks and clearly communicate them to others.
  • Work with the Company functional Managers on optimization efforts to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct post evaluation of lessons learned.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with in-depth industry experience and a true passion to win. Candidate must have exceptional project management skills, a record of contributing to high performance teams and developing outstanding relationships with internal and external customers. A strong work ethic with proactive communication skills that encourage courageous conversations are a must.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technical Field, Marketing, Business Administration.
  • 5+ years related work experience in either business development, engineering or program management environment. Aerospace and Defense segment preferred.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/leadership/management skills - positive, proactive, professional, track record or influencing key decision makers.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to develop and present proposals to customers.
  • Computer proficient to include experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) and ERP (Oracle, SAP, other)
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail with and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Current ability to develop complex solutions to solve customer requirements

Travel: Up to 25% required

This position may have a functional direct and extended reporting team that is globally distributed.

Expected salary: $90,000 - $110,000 annually. The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
