The Center is the largest 9-1-1 center in Alabama, serving 423,000 Madison County residents and 100,000 commuters.The OpportunityHMC 9-1-1 is seeking a visionary Deputy Director of Operations to lead our 24/7 operations, oversee a skilled team of dispatch professionals, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 Center Deputy Director of Operations, in collaboration with the Executive Director, establishes the strategic vision, goals, and objectives necessary to fulfill the mission of the 9-1-1 Center. This position provides leadership and oversight for all operational aspects of the 9-1-1 system, including planning, organizing, staffing, coordinating, and directing the day-to-day operations of the communications center for the Operations Division.Responsibilities include developing and managing the operational budget; participating in the evaluation, procurement, maintenance, and replacement of communications equipment and technology; and overseeing personnel management, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
