Job Description:
Responsible for the supervision of paraprofessional student staff members. Responsible for facilitating student development through educational programming and the overall management of all aspects of health and safety within multiple residence halls. Lives in a University home and is expected to be a visible and active member of the University community.
  • Supervises, trains, evaluates and selects Resident Assistant staff.
  • Facilitates the development of a community and educational environment which encourages inclusive and positive relationships among students through social and educational programming. Provides support and resources to students in individual meetings.
  • Counsels, advises and assists residents concerning personal, interpersonal and facilities concerns.
  • Uses multiple software platforms, including StarRez, Maxient, etc., to track and direct operational components of the residence hall move-in/move-out, student conduct and student wellness processes.
  • Coordinates and implements all aspects of an assigned program area, including first-year, sophomore year and upper-division experience.
  • Acts as a liaison between residents and Facilities Services, ensuring all maintenance and housekeeping requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the students in their residence halls with a variety of presenting issues, including mental health issues, academic struggles, interpersonal conflicts, etc. Assists students which requires collaboration with parents and professional staff and faculty in Student Affairs and Academic Affairs.
  • Manages Resident Assistant program budget, through receipt reconciliation and Purchase Card oversight.
  • Enforces and supports Trinity University and Residential Life policies, processes and protocols.
  • Serves on a variety of Student Affairs committees including CAS Review committees and search committees. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), as defined by the Clery Act of 1998. Serves as Summer Housing Coordinator, as assigned.
  • Reports all relevant details about alleged sexual misconduct involving any student, faculty or staff about which they know or have reason to know.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Serves in the after hours on-call duty rotation for approximately 10 to 13 weeks throughout the calendar year.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Lives in a University home and is expected to be a visible and active member of the University community.

EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred:
Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
One year of experience working in a Residential Life office as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional staff member on a college campus.
Preferred:
One to two years of professional live-in experience.
Demonstrate experience and initiative with student and community development.
