Job description

We’re committed to enriching the lives of those around us - one home at a time. Ready to make a difference? We're looking for innovators, changemakers, and energetic professionals who want to join in on our amazing mission and company culture. We're a leader in the single-family rental industry and have been named one of Atlanta’s Top Workplaces, ranked #3 on Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500, and ranked #1 for ACG’s fastest-growing company in Georgia.

WHAT IS RESICAP?

RESICAP is the leading vertically integrated solution for institutional owners of single-family residential assets in the United States. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Atlanta, GA, we operate across 34 states, delivering asset valuation, construction management, leasing, property management, dispositions, and title services. A multi-year Top Workplace in Atlanta and ranked #147 on the Inc. 5000, we combine the scale of a national platform with the energy of a company that’s still building something.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a sharp, motivated accountant to take ownership of the books for a portfolio of operating entities within the Resicap family. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility from day one — you’ll serve as the lead accountant on a set of established real estate and construction businesses, while also contributing to new ventures we’re actively building out.

This is a role for someone who is early in their career but serious about it — someone who wants to do real work, not just support tasks, and who is excited to grow alongside a company that is expanding into new markets and business lines.

The work is deliberately broad. You’ll operate at both ends of the accounting spectrum — rolling up your sleeves on AP/AR processing while also owning more technical work like job costing and percent-complete calculations for construction entities. You’ll be challenged with new business lines and corporate initiatives. The wide scope of the role will give you direct, regular exposure to the Corporate Controller, CFO, and other accounting and operations leaders.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of operating entities, including a drywall contracting company, dedicated rental community funds, and new business initiatives
  • Month-end close: journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Intercompany transaction tracking and reconciliation across related entities
  • Accounts payable, including vendor management, invoice review, coding, approval routing, and payment runs
  • Accounts receivable oversight, including invoicing, collections follow-up, cash application, and aging review
  • Coordination with the Corporate Controller on consolidated reporting, audit support, and lender/investor packages
  • Supporting the launch of new business ventures — helping stand up the accounting infrastructure from the ground floor
  • Process documentation and continuous improvement as our entity structure evolves
  • Assisting with other functions as needed, including debt facilities, AI initiatives, or other ad hoc projects

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience; we’re open to both staff and senior-level candidates, depending on fit
  • Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with or willingness to learn AR/AP processes end-to-end
  • Detail-oriented with a natural inclination to get to the bottom of a discrepancy
  • Comfortable handling both transactional and analytical work within the same role
  • Able to work effectively across teams — you’ll regularly interface with operations, not just accounting
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment where priorities can shift
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software is a plus
  • CPA candidate or CPA designation a plus, but not required
  • Real estate, construction, or property management industry experience is helpful but not expected

WHO THRIVES HERE

This role suits someone who takes ownership seriously. You won’t be handed a rigid set of procedures — you’ll be expected to figure things out, ask good questions, improve upon existing workflows, and build the processes where they don’t yet exist. You’ll also be part of a close-knit team that is focused on results.

We’re a company that rewards people who show up, produce, and want to take on more. If you’re looking for a place to learn the full breadth of accounting across a complex, multi-entity business and build a career in real estate finance, this is a strong platform for that.
