Job description

Position Summary
The Lake House is seeking a Part-Time Reservations Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing guest reservations for the Rose Tavern and Sand Bar, maximizing restaurant seating and table utilization, coordinating private dining reservations, and providing exceptional guest service. During service periods, the Reservationist may also assist as a host.
Key Responsibilities
Reservation Management
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails promptly and professionally.
  • Book reservations for the Rose Tavern and Sand Bar.
  • Optimize table assignments, covers, and table turns based on:
    • Guest count
    • Staffing levels
    • Weather conditions
  • Assist guests throughout the reservation process to ensure a positive experience.
Private Events & Dining
  • Manage inquiries for Private Dining Rooms and the Willow Lounge.
  • Book private events according to established restaurant policies.
  • Coordinate reservation details and maintain required documentation.
Guest Services
  • Assist with Front Desk needs and requests from internal guests.
  • Welcome guests upon arrival.
  • Manage waitlists during busy periods.
  • Escort and seat guests efficiently.
  • Distribute menus and answer initial questions.
  • Honor seating preferences whenever possible while maintaining balanced table rotation.
Guest Experience
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
  • Address guest concerns and assist in resolving complaints.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus and restaurant offerings.
  • Support other restaurant positions as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Always deliver outstanding guest service.
Qualifications
Required Skills

Compensation & Benefits

    • 5% commission on food and beverage purchases for qualifying events booked in the Private Dining Rooms or Willow Lounge.
    • Applies to events meeting the minimum food & beverage spend requirement with a credit card on file.
    • Paid monthly.
