Job description

The DeNicola lab (http://labpages2.moffitt.org/denicola) at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa FL is recruiting a Research Associate II to join our group.
Research in the DeNicola lab is centered around how metabolic deregulation occurs during tumorigenesis and how mutations that promote the activation of the transcription factor NRF2 control this process. We are recruiting a Research Associate II to investigate how changes in the tumor microenvironment impact metabolic reprogramming and dependencies in lung cancer.
Position Highlights:
  • A Research Associate II position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Gina DeNicola in the Department of Metabolism & Physiology.
  • We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual interested in the study of cancer metabolism.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, including protein extraction and western blotting.
  • Is well experienced in culturing mammalian cell lines and/or primary mammalian cells.
  • Has experience working with mouse models of cancer or other disease.
  • Must have the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Must have good organizations skills and careful attention to details.
  • Must be able to manage their time efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains laboratory equipment in a clean and working order, including coordinating instrument standardization documented by written report.
  • Reorders stock laboratory supplies when depleted under appropriate supervision.
  • Contributes to the preparation of manuscripts, grants, administrative and research compliance documents as directed by supervisor.
  • Technically responsible for the collection, organization and permanent documentation of data in physical and electronic formats as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Responsible for data analysis using standardized procedures and protocols and under minimal supervision.

Credentials and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. Master's Degree in relevant field is preferred.
  • Hands-on research experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
