Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Research Associate to join our Research Development team. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors.
This exciting position provides technical and administrative support for research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects under the leadership of the Research Development Office. The Research Associate assists with review, routing and submission of grants and contracts; conducts literature reviews and assists with protocol development; provides administrative support for project teams, committees and councils. This position engages in subject recruitment, data collection and data management; prepares and maintains regulatory documents and binders; assumes responsibility for content, layout and distribution of newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials; maintains departmental databases and distribution lists; organizes events.

This full-time position coordinates and provides technical and project management for research, evaluation and quality improvement projects throughout the organization, including a complex pulmonary rehabilitation initiative funded by the Gawlicki Foundation. When possible, the position is funded through grants, contracts, and other external funding sources. Currently funded 100% through Pulmonary research funds and the Connecticut Institute for Primary Care Innovation. Ability to maintain and seek additional funding depends on this position. The position is also needed to assist with regulatory documents necessary for compliance with federal agencies.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Exceptional Project Management Skills: Works independently to inform faculty and staff of current research, funding and related regulatory developments. Participates in developing and implementing study protocols and regulatory documents in collaboration with investigators and research staff

  • Excellent Communicator: Communicates with stakeholders and partners within the hospital, ministry, and community. Schedules, attends and supports research meetings, investigator meetings, and research councils and committees; takes and distributes meeting minutes

  • Detail Oriented: Participates in developing and implementing study protocols and regulatory documents in collaboration with investigators and research staff. Drafts articles, conducts interviews, compiles information, edits, designs and distributes newsletters and promotional materials

  • Active Teamwork: Supports research department staff by maintaining communications, databases and processes pertaining to research development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Prior work experience in the area of research.

  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented team player with the ability to work independently.
