The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.
Job Summary
Performs laboratory research experiments in support of ongoing basic science research and clinical studies; manages laboratory supplies, equipment, and inventory; coordinates study-related administrative and regulatory activities; assists with day-to-day laboratory operations; may coordinate and supervise the activities of students and support staff; and ensures compliance with institutional policies, research protocols, and safety guidelines
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PERFORMS ACTIVITIES: Performs activities in support of clinical research projects.
RECRUITS PARTICIPANTS: Recruits participants and determines qualifications/eligibility to participate in study.
ANALYZES RESULTS: Analyzes results of research experiments and procedures via manual and/or computer techniques.
PARTICIPATES IN PROJECTS: Participates in project planning and development of research protocols.
PREPARES MANUSCRIPTS: Prepares manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
ASSISTS WITH GRANTS: Assists with grant preparation.
COLLECTS SAMPLES OR DATA: Collects samples or data and performs lab analysis and/or quantifies and tabulates results.
PERFORMS DATA ENTRY: Performs data entry in statistical programs for relevant research activities.
COORDINATES RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: Coordinates research activities of graduate students, fellows, assistants and other employees.
OTHER: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research or clinical setting particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' experience in a research or clinical area
Preferred Qualifications
Some previous experience with social/behavioral science (public health) research is desirable
