The Position
We are currently looking for a Ceramic Process Engineer to join our team.

The Ceramic Process Engineer plans, organizes and executes engineering functions to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. The Process Engineer will be involved in all process engineering aspects of a manufacturing plant and must be willing to work in a collaborative environment to improve efficiency and reduce costs. An emphasis on both safety and environment compliance is critical in our work environment.

This role serves as a bridge between customers, Engineering, and Operations by developing new products and processes, improving existing products and processes, and identifying new applications for existing products. Responsibilities also include providing technical support for the production plant, collaboration with customers, and maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of pertinent technologies. This role is a critical resource for the Company’s manufacturing of ceramic products.

Job Description            

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate workflows, equipment, and facility layouts to reduce costs, optimize production, and improve manufacturing performance
  • Develop, modify, test, and implement manufacturing methods, equipment, and standard operating procedures in collaboration with vendors
  • Ensure product and process quality by establishing standards, designing testing methods, validating manufacturing processes, and maintaining regulatory and safety compliance
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production, process, labor, material, and experimental data to support business decisions and continuous improvement
  • Manage development projects, conduct research on materials and processes, and plan and execute experiments
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, project documentation, and regular status updates for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Operations, and customers on new and existing products, processes, and project objectives
  • Track projects, maintain technical knowledge through professional development, and participate in industry learning opportunities
  • Travel to customer, vendor, and sister-site locations as needed to support meetings, trials, collaboration, and project execution

Job Requirements       

 Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Ceramic, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Metallurgy Engineering and 3+ years of experience

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Have in depth knowledge of a variety of industrial processes related to ceramic manufacturing
  • Have a strong commitment to continuous improvement with a great track record of success in process improvement
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
  • Have a commitment to safety and environmental regulations, with a strong understanding of process safety concepts and issues
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
