Job description

Avoq is seeking a proven, intellectually curious, forward-looking research & analytics leader, with deep subject matter expertise and a solid track record of business success and growth. This integrated and agile thinker and adept data storyteller is a master at solving complex challenges and uncovering new opportunities for clients through actionable insights, intelligence, and strategy. This leader on our Audience | Intelligence | Performance (AIP) Team will design, manage, execute, and deliver research and integrated analytics client engagements.

Collaborating closely with integrated teams across Avoq, this SVP of Research & Integrated Analytics will serve as a catalyst to advance a forward-thinking culture and be charged with helping clients optimize research, analytics, reporting, and intelligence projects. This SVP will also build and implement strategic measurement frameworks and contribute to the ideation, development, launch, execution, and monetization of Avoq’s rapidly expanding suite of leading-edge, proprietary AI-Powered Intelligence Solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

The Senior Vice President, Research & Analytics will play a critical role in driving the Insights team’s performance and success, wearing several different leadership hats, including:

Senior Team Leader – You have strong team and project management abilities that enable you to cultivate the talent and skills of team members, embracing a culture of cross-functional collaboration. You inspire your team to stay on top of trends and innovation and help them develop new ideas and products to enable Avoq and its clients stay ahead. 

Data Strategist – You’re able to pinpoint and translate key data findings to help clients and account teams achieve a wide array of reputation, business, and policy objectives across a diverse range of sectors and situations. You possess the experience needed to connect insights with specific tactics, such as media relations, paid advertising, stakeholder engagement, content strategy, message development, rapid response, and more.

Subject Matter Expert – You will be looked to as a leading research and integrated analytics expert within the AIP team, across Avoq, and by the firm’s largest clients, serving as a critical resource in transforming complex data into stories and actionable, high impact insights. You lead the team in designing research & integrated analytics methodologies, scoping projects, and presenting findings and actionable recommendations to clients and account teams. You can provide a 360-degree view of key stakeholders to understand sentiment and reputation. You have a deep and advanced understanding of research & integrated analytics approaches and methodologies (quantitative and qualitative, primary and secondary) and a strong understanding of emerging AI technologies and their increasing role in the field of research and integrated analytics.

Advanced Analytics and Tools Maven – You are an expert user of advanced data platforms, social listening platforms, influencer marketing technology, audience intelligence platforms and AI tools. You’re adept at leveraging AI to innovate research and analytics offerings and strengthen insights generation. You will be willing and have the capability to rapidly learn the ins and outs of Avoq’s approaches/methodologies and solutions, as well as Avoq’s evolving suite of data, research and analytics tools.

Storyteller – Data needs to tell a story. You must have a natural curiosity about the world, cause and effect events, and uncovering “the why” behind the data. You will work with colleagues to synthesize your findings into compelling narratives and presentations and be able to confidently articulate these stories to senior internal and external audiences.

Business Driver – You will play a key role on the highest priority new business and client assignments, helping define and pitch insights activities that put data at the center of client strategy development and execution. You will also play a key role in driving the business impact of the AIP team, including revenue tracking and profitability.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Partner with growth and capability leaders to support crafting solutions for clients.
  • Work with leadership team to refine and execute go-to-market strategy for AIP (Audience Intelligence Performance) business.
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders as a consultative partner to drive strategic data and analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to proactively identify opportunities across existing clients and new prospects to introduce AIP capabilities.
  • Participate in business development efforts supporting RFP responses, collaborating across departments to develop integrated solutions and leading pitches.
  • Develop thought leadership and innovative solutions that position our clients at the forefront of their industries through pitches and client interactions.
  • Continuously assess emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge and effective.
  • Develop and set go-to-market strategies for analytics and AI products and services, ensuring successful market penetration and adoption.
  • Drive team performance through assertive leadership, an action-oriented approach to project management and execution, and comfort asserting yourself as a critical firm-wide subject matter expert on data and analytics matters.
  • Cultivate firm-wide knowledge of data and analytics by conceptualizing educational and upskilling opportunities for staff at all levels, including training materials, templates, and workshops.
  • Set the business strategy of the team, including how we track revenue, scope and price projects, and cross-sell insights products and services to enhance integration of research across the firm’s client base.
  • Help build a vision for the future of our team, how insights and technology is shaping our industry, and have a voice in shaping the direction of the team.

Requirements

YOUR EXPERIENCE

As a qualified candidate, you have 15+ years of work experience in theareas below:

  • Prior experience working with integrated communications marketing / pr firms, public affairs agencies, research firms, public policy organizations, political campaigns, or government.
  • Ability to translate high-level strategic plans into actionable projects and OKRs with comprehensive timelines, budgets, and reporting.
  • Experience creating robust reporting dashboards or other similar data visualization tools.
  • Strong experience effectively supporting senior clients (C-Suite and similar) in high-stakes, fast moving, complex scenarios.
  • A role model that leads by example, and maintains a positive, open, friendly and respectful attitude, with high ethical standards, and an appropriate professional demeanor.

The salary range for this role starts at $230,000
