Job description

The BTI Analytics team is a part of Insights and Products Analytics team within the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) Business Unit and performs analysis related to all aspects of Gartner's Insights business and shares actionable recommendations and insights. We perform client value and retention analytics (Content, Client interactions, and BTI role in Conferences and Events), associate performance analytics, budget and financial analytics, and client demand sensing, improving the performance of our experts and BTI. Our team powers fact-based decision making by providing client centric data, insights, and analytic tools to continuously improve our busines - operationally and strategically.
We are looking for a Manager who is a proven analytical problem solver, has strong technical understanding of data / data systems and is an exceptional coach to be part of our growing team. This individual will have 2 to 3 members reporting to them and should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to "get the job done" and leading strategic initiatives.
This role will primarily focus on the ownership of end-to-end deliverables on some key interactions and events analytics and projects e.g., reducing friction in the end-to-end inquiry process, measuring the quality of interactions, dashboard and analytics strategy, and monthly analytics and insights. Initiatives and projects involve data definition, data pull, technical understanding of Gartner data, analyze for insights, build recommendations, visualize data, scale through automated visualizations and reporting.
Some objectives include:
  • Design, implement, and refine analytics solutions to measure and improve interactions performance (e.g., service levels such as cycle time, due date achievement, fulfillment rate etc.) and identify key trends and opportunities in a scalable way to share recommendations and insights to improve overall business

  • Design, develop, and / or improve comprehensive end-to-end dashboards and monthly and quarterly insights packs that effectively communicate the performance of interactions and events assets, including root cause analyses, identification of emerging trends, and highlighting areas of success and opportunity

  • Enable a destination postcard for managers to access insights, proven best practices and associated data for coaching their teams

  • Identify factors causing friction in the inquiry process and analyze levers to reduce friction such as improving analyst availability, reducing reschedules, and reducing time lost in clarifying coverage on topics

  • Establish architecture and measurement of webinars performance, showcasing KPIs and identifying bright spots

  • Enhance interactions and events insights by improving scorecards, operational reviews, and dashboards, as well as automating ad-hoc reporting requests from BTI and other Gartner teams

What you'll do:
  • Build expertise to be the center of excellence on Gartner research assets data, with deep knowledge of the data across source systems, the data warehouse, and dashboards / reports so analysis is unassailable, and other Gartner teams rely on the data we provide and guidance on how to use it.

  • Partner with stakeholders (e.g., IT, Interactions Operations, Content Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Global Product Management) to understand business needs and capabilities and collaboratively prioritize efforts against areas of highest impact. Ensure seamless communication and change management across relevant stakeholder orgs

  • Coach your team to be world-class analytical experts, who can think critically and take an ambiguous business problem, break it into solvable workstreams, analyze using right quantitative models to discover meaningful patterns, insights, and information that can inform decision-making, visualize the outcomes and build into automated dashboards/reports.

  • Develop and continuously improve analytical methodologies for BTI (and other BUs). Organize and structure large data sets to extract actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making and recommendations

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to automate existing dashboards, reports, and analyses wherever possible to improve scalability and efficiency. Execute project approaches using iterative development, delivering functionality in incremental, value-driven phases. Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and business value.

  • Effective Communication: Develop clear, compelling outputs that communicate root causes and tell a coherent story to address and solve business challenges.

  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Promote seamless collaboration within the team and facilitate knowledge sharing to drive collective success.

What you will need:
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive business experience involving advanced business analytics, complex problem solving, and business strategy

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required with a Master's Degree preferred. Degree with a concentration in statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or operations research preferred.

  • Exceptional problem solving: Proven track record of solving complex problems, Critical thinking, Analytical reasoning, Innovation, and using data to influence senior level stakeholders. Demonstrated thought leadership with high business impact throughout career.

  • Strong technical understanding of data and skills to analyze as well as visualize it

  • Statistical analysis incl identify patterns and trends in the data, avoid bias and apply the right models/methodologies/calculations

  • Programming languages e.g., SQL, Python, R

  • Data visualization tools e.g., Power BI

  • Attention to detail e.g., data hygiene, quality checks, documentation etc.

  • Ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) preferred

  • Rigorous prioritization and working in fast-paced environments: Track record of success in environments with competing and continuously evolving priorities

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and coach teams; engaging teams and key stakeholders across business functions and at all levels of the organization

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder management: Strong collaboration and influencing skills in a highly matrixed environment. Influencing stakeholders and team members based on a command of the facts, analysis, and implications

  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication - structured, engaging and compelling

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 98,000 USD - 133,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
