Description
HighVista Strategies is seeking an analyst to join the Public Markets team. This analyst will support the Biotechnology Research efforts the firm has a 13-year history of investing in, with a strong track record of outperformance.
The primary responsibilities of the role will be to execute projects related to the health care sector, with an emphasis on publicly listed biotechnology companies. Projects will be varied and topics will range from being focused on specific companies and disease areas to evaluating specialist investment partners in the space to working on white papers on larger themes within the sector. We value a candidate with fluency in scientific/technical matters while also being an articulate communicator and writer who is able to make complicated topics accessible to a broader audience. The ideal candidate has several years of experience working in industry or as a sell-side research analyst, but we are open to other backgrounds too.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of investment or financial experience with a strong interest in investing in the biotechnology sector
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and team-player with the ability to work under the guidance of senior professional
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, including numerical proficiency and abstract thinking
  • Bachelor's degree or further education with a strong academic track record
  • Robust work-ethic with a desire to learn
