Job description

Overview
The Small Business Administration (SBA) Lending Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Bank's SBA lending program across all markets. This position will assist with sales, standard operating procedures and training in order to increase knowledge and compliance with SBA products and programs.
Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the development and lead the execution of strategies for SBA lending programs.
  2. Drafts and maintains all procedures and policies related to SBA lending activities and programs.
  3. Ensures adherence to all SBA program requirements and SOP, including reporting and servicing requirements.
  4. Ensures all loans are properly submitted to the SBA and all processes and procedures are followed to perfect the SBA guarantee. Serves as the lead on coordinating and responding to all SBA audits, exams and oversight activities.
  5. Conducts training with all sales staff to promote SBA programs and increase product knowledge among sales staff.
  6. Oversees customer life cycle activities for SBA loans such as origination, documentation, closing and servicing (in partnership with the commercial loan servicing area).
  7. Support sales efforts by attending sales calls to educate customers on the features, benefits and requirements of SBA programs.
  8. Ensure applicants meet all requirements of SBA programs and that all loan documentation conforms to SBA requirements.
  9. Develop and leverage reporting and data to guide business and operational decisions to improve SBA lending production.
  10. Work with the Bank's Loan Origination System to integrate SBA lending programs and increase efficiency in the ongoing processing of SBA applications
  11. Serve as the Bank's administrator for the ETran, SAM.gov, CAVIRS and other SBA systems.
  12. Maintain current knowledge of key SBA programs
  13. Work with Special Asset Recovery team (workout) on liquidation, litigation and repurchase of any SBA loans as necessary.
  14. Provide financial projections, sales projections and analysis to guide business decisions.
  15. Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to Fair Lending Practices, Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  16. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years SBA lending experience. Five (5) years experience in commercial or small business lending.
  • Knowledge of SBA lending programs and requirements required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial and marketing skills required.
  • Must be an effective, approachable communicator able to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude at all times with the ability to motivate and encourage teammates.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of retail and residential loan origination systems is preferred.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and process efficiency skills.
