Job description

Forklift Operator

Purpose:

The AS/RS forklift operator is responsible for transferring palletized milk shipping cartons from the out-feed conveyors to outbound trailers, or inbound transfer loads onto in-feed conveyors to process shipments accurately, while cataloguing and tracking all produced pallets.

Essential Responsibilities:

All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.

Retrieve pallets of milk from the conveyors and confirm pallet labeling integrity, for accurate information.

Load trucks with appropriate customer product derived from an order form and Bill of Lading, dispatched from the ASRS crane system.

Scan all pallets into DSI, track packaged milk in cold storage, shuttle trucks and direct ship and maintain all required logs and documentation.

Support palletizing and labeling areas, as well as monitor product integrity to determine and reject compromised product conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Detail oriented team member with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Have ability to pass Forklift certification.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the physical ability to work the entire shift on the plant floor working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-40 degrees will be a requirement. Standing, walking, climbing, repetitive bending, repetitive stooping, repetitive reaching with arms and repetitive grasping with hands and fingers. Must have the ability to lift, up to, to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, and large trucks. Be able to place loaded pallets in stackable racks and trailers.
