Description:

The Site Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager will be responsible for partnering with the site operations team in the Dream Fulfillment Center (DFC) to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our associates. A successful Site Safety Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
The Site Safety Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in RTR safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety and environmental standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the safety landscape. The Site Safety Manager will possess excellent safety program knowledge as well as environmental and ergonomic knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Safety, Security, and Environmental due diligence activities applicable in New Jersey including compliance with OSHA regulations and reporting requirements, waste management, Community Right to Know Reporting, wastewater discharge management and reporting, environmental site assessments and permitting. 
  • Lead incident investigation process, identify root cause, and develop corrective and preventative actions through to resolution. 
  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Facilitate access to First Aid for personnel that need assistance or medical attention.
  • Maintain accurate routine operational metrics to report to onsite management teams. 
  • Train and assist the operations staff to comply with RTR's safety responsibilities.
  • Lead site security program to ensure personnel, assets, and property are protected.
  • Analyze safety and security metrics, review incident trends and allocate resources appropriately, escalating to senior leadership as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in EHS programs in manufacturing and warehousing; preferably in food, chemical, or health and beauty environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or related fields. 
  • OSHA 30 certification or higher.
  • Must maintain an onsite presence and perform on-call rotations for the network to provide weekend and afterhours coverage. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Enforce safety guidelines, cleanliness and security standards.
  • Ability to quickly recognize, diagnose and solve challenges for associates in partnership with leadership.
  • Advise and mentor operational leadership in safety and security matters. 
  • Must operate with a sense of urgency and have attention to detail. 
  • Align with the company's core values to ensure a world class customer experience.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs based on the needs of the role.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong data analysis with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, the use of pivot tables in Excel, and data visualization tools; Google Looker is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of air and waste water permitting.
  • OSHA 501 certification and above. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, and/or PMP certification. 
  • SQL and in depth data analysis tools.
