Male Associates, a multidiscipline firm offering comprehensive Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geology, Environmental, and Survey services, is expanding our Renewable Energy team with an immediate opening for a Renewable Energy Site Development Manager in our Civil Engineering and Land Services Division. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, client-service oriented, creative thinker interested in sustainability and renewable energy work.
As a Renewable Energy Site Development Manager based in our Latham (Albany), NY office, you will work on a variety of civil engineering tasks supporting renewable energy projects while collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of talented professionals. This full-time position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, opportunities for project and staff management, client interaction, and rewarding pathways for advancement and ownership opportunities.
What You'll Do:
  • Design and lead renewable energy projects, including site civil plans, landscape plans, engineering reports, calculations, specifications, construction detail, and other technical documents in support of municipal permit packages, issued-for bid and issued for-construction documents.
  • Perform site visits and prepare Feasibility Studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, clients, and agencies.
  • Planning Board and public presentations, securing regulatory/agency permits and approvals.
  • Foster positive, cooperative, and rewarding relationships with clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and support junior staff by inspiring teamwork.
  • Lead multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate Quality Assurance and Control review procedures for projects.

Pay Range: $95,000 - $120,000 per year, paid weekly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job Requirements
What We're Looking For:
  • Ten plus (10+) years of Site Development experience with knowledge of Site Civil Design with background in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of site civil design, permitting, and land use regulations, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and local municipal and state permit applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to perform limited travel to project sites.

Preferred:
  • Public presentation and planning board experience.
  • Experience with local/state jurisdictional requirements for utility-scale, distributed generation, and behind-the-meter renewable energy applications.
  • Project and/or staff management experience.
  • Proposal writing and business development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture from ABET-accredited four-year college or university.
  • New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Landscape Architect (R.L.A.) license.
  • GIS Skills.
