About the Role

Client is seeking a talented Environment & Energy Associate to join our growing and dynamic practice group. With a strong national reputation, our team is known for its comprehensive work across environmental regulatory compliance, renewable energy development, complex litigation, and transactional support.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge environmental and renewable energy projects across New York State, supporting clients through legal and regulatory frameworks that are shaping the future of sustainability and energy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in environmental and energy-related matters, including appearances before administrative and regulatory bodies.

  • Handle environmental and energy permitting, regulatory compliance, transactional due diligence, and development processes.

  • Provide legal support on project acquisition, transfer, and financing transactions, particularly in the renewable energy space.

  • Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in commercial agreements.

  • Manage and litigate environmental disputes, including depositions, motion practice, e-discovery, and court appearances.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • 3 to 6 years of experience handling environmental and/or energy law matters.

  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, project development, permitting, or environmental litigation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong academic credentials and legal research abilities.

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
