Summary

The Jira Administrator will be responsible for administering and evolving Celestica's Atlassian ecosystem, with primary focus on Jira Cloud and Confluence. This role requires hands-on expertise across Jira Cloud environments, with strengths in configuration, workflow automation, user and permission management, and operational support for large user populations.  The role will support business and engineering teams by configuring scalable Jira solutions, maintaining platform health, implementing integrations and SSO, troubleshooting user and system issues, and delivering training and documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in cloud migrations, add-on administration, Agile delivery support, and platform governance.

You will be required to work Hybrid in the Celestica office of your choice.  Locations include Richardson or Austin, Texas OR San Jose, CA.  

Detailed Description

Jira Platform Administration: Administer and maintain Jira Cloud environments, including health
checks, configuration governance, and day-to-day operational support.
Configuration Management: Design and implement Jira workflows, screens, custom fields, issue
types, field configurations, notification schemes, permission schemes, and other project
configurations based on business requirements.
User, Group, and Access Management: Manage users, groups, roles, permissions, and
privileges across Jira and Confluence, including directory synchronization and access
governance.

Upgrade and Migration Delivery: Lead Jira Cloud migration and optimization initiatives, including
migration planning, dependency analysis, plugin compatibility assessment, and cutover runbook
preparation.
Integration and Automation: Implement integrations with enterprise tools and plug-ins, including
SSO with OKTA, repository integrations, automated ticket creation, and custom automation
rules and scripts to streamline platform operations.
Add-on and License Management: Install, test, evaluate, and maintain Jira and Confluence
plug-ins and licenses, while ensuring compatibility, stability, and performance across
environments.

Reporting and Agile Enablement: Build and support JQL filters, dashboards, gadgets, scrum
boards, and portfolio plans that improve visibility into delivery, defects, and operational
performance across teams.

End-User Support and Training: Troubleshoot Jira and Confluence issues, resolve user queries
within service levels, create documentation, and deliver training for technical and non-technical
users.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, developers, QA teams, infrastructure
teams, and project stakeholders to implement Jira solutions that support Agile delivery and
organizational governance.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in Jira Administration and Confluence support, with strong Jira Cloud
    expertise.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira Cloud environments.
  • Strong experience configuring workflows, post functions, conditions, validations, screens,
    schemes, custom fields, issue types, and permissions.
  • Experience managing large Jira user populations and multiple Jira instances in enterprise
    environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of JQL, dashboards, gadgets, filters, scrum boards, epics, stories,
    sprints, and Agile project implementation.
  • Experience with Jira plug-ins and Atlassian ecosystem add-ons such as Elements Connect,
    ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, Zephyr, and Advanced Roadmaps.
  • Experience with user provisioning, group management, role-based access control, and directory
    synchronization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot platform, user, and configuration issues and to support operational
    incidents within SLA expectations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, training, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Jira Cloud SSO integration using OKTA or similar identity providers.
  • Experience writing Groovy scripts or other automation scripts for Jira administration use cases.
  • Experience integrating Jira with Git repositories, Confluence, and other enterprise applications
    using plug-ins or platform integrations.
  • Familiarity with related DevOps and collaboration tools such as Confluence, GitLab, and
    Jenkins.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
