Self Harmony Counseling is seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Licensed Master Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Chicago, Illinois. Although the position is remote, regular virtual meetings and check-ins will be part of the workflow to ensure aligned and coordinated care.

• Conduct in-depth assessments of students’ socioeconomic, emotional, and social needs, employing evidence-based practices to identify their strengths and challenges.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and mental health professionals to develop individualized support plans that align with students' educational and emotional goals.
• Provide counseling services to students facing a range of issues, from academic stress to familial challenges, utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Advocate for clients' rights and facilitate access to necessary resources, including mental health services, academic support, and community programs.
• Work closely with teachers and school staff to implement strategies and interventions that promote a positive school climate and enhance students' overall well-being.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support plans, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and observed progress.
• Document all interactions and interventions in accordance with ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities, enhancing skills and knowledge in the field while remaining abreast of best practices in social work.

This role centers on supporting school-aged children and their families, particularly those navigating the complexities of educational and social challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the unique issues faced by youth, including trauma, family dynamics, and educational stressors. A focus on culturally responsive practices will be essential in addressing diverse client backgrounds and their specific needs.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
• Minimum of two years' experience in a social work role, with a preference for experience in educational or community settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of social work ethics, policies, and practices related to youth and educational environments.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, allowing for effective support tailored to individual student circumstances.

• Experience in providing clinical supervision or mentorship to junior social workers or interns.
• Familiarity with relevant community resources, including mental health services and educational support programs.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and their application in an educational setting.
