The Payroll Tax Compliance Development Analyst is responsible for analyzing, reporting, and ensuring compliance with payroll and tax regulations. Bridging the gap between requirements and technical product requirements. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of relevant laws and accounting principles. This position is crucial to the accuracy of payroll and payroll tax reporting. Requiring full compliance with payroll and payroll tax regulations while supporting the integrity of payroll systems and processes.
What You Will do
Compliance:
  • Researching and proactively tracking tax laws and legislative regulations; including, federal, state, and local
  • Translating complex tax compliance requirements into detailed technical specifications for the Development Team
  • Collabing with Product and Development Team to overcome any limitations and create a precise completed product; including testing calculations, withholding, and reporting
  • Engaging with upcoming clients to decipher current tax prerequisite data to convert into functional tax data within the NEOGOV product
  • Extensively analyzing client's pay data, tax reporting, and tax filing data to ensure accuracy to the tax agencies, while still meeting our client's needs
  • Maintaining up-to-date reporting and filing specifications for all tax agencies; including current supporting compliance documentation
  • Cross functional collaboration to ensure HRIS systems and workflow remain legally compliant and operationally sound
  • Auditing of current operations for system/process enhancements and best practices
  • Recognizing trends and patterns in HRIS/payroll to identify risk and provide solutions
  • Partner with external vendors on compliance updates and integrations
  • Timely application of updates for proactive internal processes
  • Providing guidance and communication to clients and internally to ensure NEOGOV is adhering to the latest payroll standards and laws

Additional Roles:
  • Assisting with payroll tax preparation and filing; including, federal, state, and local
  • Building tax reports for direct tax filing
  • Investigating and resolving tax discrepancies and notices
  • Providing customer support to Payroll Service clients
  • Year End client support and training
  • Well versed in tax reconciliation procedures and processes

Technical Skills:
  • Experience in HRIS, payroll system and related software
  • Working knowledge and understanding of internal technical specifications to maintain current HRIS and payroll systems software
  • Ability to bridge the gap between the requirements of Payroll Service tax compliance and the execution within Development Product
  • Collaboration to test and validate compliance updates and changes within the NEOGOV product
