Job description

About the role and team

Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don't come with a script. As an Account Partner for Grocery & Retail, you will own a portfolio of merchants ranging from local specialty shops to large supermarket chains, acting as their primary strategic partner to drive growth and operational excellence. You will bridge the digital and real worlds by translating complex data into actionable strategies that help our partners thrive on the Uber platform.

This role is built for those who find energy in the messy reality of doing big things. You will face the constant challenge of balancing commercial negotiations with technical operational hurdles, often with shifting priorities and imperfect information. Success here requires a "go-get-it" attitude, deep curiosity about our technology, and the resilience to stay steady when navigating tough conversations or complex partner escalations. If you are motivated by tangible impact and ready to take full ownership of your portfolio's success, this is where you'll grow.

What you'll do

  • Own a diverse portfolio of retail merchants, acting as their main strategic partner to drive retention and long-term revenue growth.
  • Navigate the messiness of operational data to diagnose performance issues and build number-backed growth plans that demonstrate clear ROI to partners.
  • Lead challenging commercial negotiations to secure merchant investments in advertising and promotional tools, even when faced with pricing pushbacks or client objections.
  • Improve operational excellence by unblocking technical and catalog-related issues, ensuring stock accuracy and catalog health meet high standards for our users.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across marketing, product, and operations to resolve blockers and shape solutions that scale across the retail environment.
  • Manage a high-volume pipeline with discipline and urgency, adapting your approach based on shifting market dynamics and partner needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of experience, ideally in full-cycle account management, B2B sales, or a similar analytical role.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis and create insights.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and building collaborative relationships within and across teams.
  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency in English for managing internal projects and communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability in negotiation and deal-making, specifically in upselling digital marketing tools like ads and offers.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for disciplined reporting and pipeline management.
  • Experience working within the retail, grocery, e-commerce, or CPG industries.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking and ability to navigate tension while influencing without authority.
  • Analytical curiosity focused on improving operational metrics such as cancellation rates and basket size.
