Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a Remote Wireless Network Engineer to support Managed Network Environments (MNE) and Managed Wi-Fi deployments across hospitality, entertainment, and large public venue environments including hotels, arenas, and conference centers.
This role will focus on providing break/fix support for enterprise wireless infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access points (APs), and Wi-Fi controllers. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of troubleshooting network issues across OSI Layers 1-3 in high-density wireless environments and be comfortable supporting mission-critical networks remotely.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote support for Managed Wi-Fi environments in hotels, arenas, and large venue deployments
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across OSI Layers 1-3
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
    • Routers
    • Switches
    • Wireless Access Points (APs)
    • Wi-Fi Controllers
  • Support configuration and troubleshooting of VLANs in wireless network environments
  • Utilize packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) for network analysis and issue resolution
  • Perform break/fix troubleshooting for wireless and wired network infrastructure
  • Conduct root cause analysis on outages and performance issues
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve network incidents
  • Document support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks in a break/fix environment
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and OSI Layers 1-3
  • Experience supporting routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure
  • Experience troubleshooting VLAN configurations
  • Ability to support high-density wireless deployments remotely
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with:
    • Ruckus Wireless
    • Cisco Wireless
    • Cisco Meraki APs and Controllers
  • Packet capture and analysis experience using Wireshark
  • Experience with automation tools or scripting languages such as:
    • Python
    • Bash
  • Experience supporting hospitality or large venue network environments
  • Relevant certifications such as CWNA, CCNA, or equivalent
Schedule
  • Primary Shift Options:
    • 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST
    • 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST
  • Standard 5x8 schedule
  • On-Call Rotation:
    • Every 4th week (or 5th depending on team size)
    • 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM EST
    • P1 emergencies and outage support only
    • Weekend standby required during on-call rotation
    • Secondary escalation support provided by Senior Engineer
