Remote Weekend Shift Engineer information

What is a remote weekend shift engineer?

A Remote Weekend Shift Engineer is an IT or technical professional who works remotely, typically outside of standard business hours, to monitor, maintain, and resolve issues with systems, networks, or applications. Their main responsibility is to ensure that technical operations continue to run smoothly during weekends when regular staff may be unavailable. They respond to incidents, perform scheduled maintenance, and may also provide support for end-users or clients as needed. This role is crucial for companies that require 24/7 system uptime or support. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently are important for success in this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote weekend shift engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Weekend Shift Engineer, you need a strong background in systems administration, troubleshooting, and IT support, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, remote desktop software, and certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are often required. Effective communication, self-motivation, and strong time management are crucial soft skills for remote work and off-hour problem-solving. These skills ensure reliable system uptime, quick incident response, and seamless collaboration, which are vital for maintaining business continuity during weekend shifts.

What are some common challenges faced by remote weekend shift engineers, and how can they best manage them?

Remote Weekend Shift Engineers often encounter challenges such as limited access to on-site resources and collaborating with team members who may not be available during off-hours. To manage these, it's important to be proactive in documenting issues, maintaining clear communication with weekday staff, and utilizing remote monitoring and troubleshooting tools effectively. Building strong self-management skills and setting up a reliable home workspace also help ensure productivity and responsiveness during weekend shifts.

Job description

Location: 100% Remote  Work from home — no commute, no office
Schedule: Evenings & Weekends (detailed rotation below)
Job Type: Full-Time W-2 Employee
Base Pay: $36,000 / year + Full Benefits (see below)
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $129,000 + Uncapped Commission
Company: The Investor’s Edge

We're on a mission. Want in?

For 20 years, The Investor's Edge has been flipping the script on financial freedom—helping everyday people build real wealth through real estate investing. We're not about hype. We're about results.

And right now? We're scaling our evening and weekend sales team with closers who can keep up.

Here's what we've got:

A proven product people actually need. Warm leads who are ready to invest. A commission structure that rewards performance (we're talking $100K-$150K+ for our team). And a fully remote setup that lets you work from literally anywhere with WiFi.

Here's what we need:

Someone who can jump on a call and close. Not someone who needs hand-holding. Not someone who's trying to figure out sales. Someone who's BEEN there, DONE that, and wants to do it again in an environment that actually supports growth.

The deets:

  • $36K base (because bills exist) + uncapped commissions
  • Work evenings and weekends (rotating schedule so you get consistent days off)
  • Pre-set appointments + live transfers (no cold calling, ever)
  • Full benefits, 401(k) match, the whole package
  • Average team earnings: $100K+. Top performers: $129K+.

What you need to bring:

  • 2+ years closing high-ticket B2C deals over the phone
  • CRM skills (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Proof you can close programs worth $3K+
  • The discipline to work remote without falling apart

This isn't for everyone. But if you're someone who thrives on results, values flexibility, and wants to be part of a team that's been winning for two decades—let's talk.

Hours:

Your Schedule (MST):

  • Mon–Thu: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Fri: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat–Sun: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM  Directors rotate weekends, working two out of every three weekends to ensure balanced coverage.  If you work Sat and Sun you will have Mon and Tuesday off.
  • You’ll work a 5-day schedule, never more than five days in a row, with two consecutive days off each week.
  • You’ll keep your calendar open Nights and Weekends about 10 hours per day (around 50 hours per week) to allow for both pre-scheduled appointments and live-transfer calls.

You’ll typically have 25–35 hours of booked talk time per week, each pre scheduled set is 2-hour appointment blocks. This turns into  11-12 hours of Talk time for pre set. This does not include live transfers.

When not on a call, your time is flexible — you just need to stay reachable within 5 minutes during your shift for any incoming live transfer. You have to be ready for a video call to be on a live call in front of computer within 5 mins during set hours.

Apply now. Spots are limited.
