Your potential has a place here with TTEC's award-winning employment experience. As a Manager - Web Development & UI/UX working remotely in the Philippines , you'll be a part of bringing humanity to business. #experienceTTEC
Our employees have spoken. Our purpose, team, and company culture are amazing and our Great Place to Work® certification in the United States says it all!
What You'll Do
The Manager - Web Development & UI/UX leads the build-out and ongoing management of a new cross-functional team of web developers and UI/UX designers, established to deliver on the Client/Project engagement. The role centers on team leadership, client engagement, and delivery management: owning the day-to-day client relationship, running meetings and governance, and translating requirements into clear timelines, deliverables, and actionable items.
You'll report to Director, Project Management. The Manager sets technical directions for frontend engineering and ensures high-quality UI/UX outcomes by leading and enabling the team, rather than personally producing design or code. Success is measured by the team's delivery against its commitments, the quality of its output, and the strength of the client partnership.
During a Typical Day, You'll
1. Team Leadership & Build-Out
• Stand up the new team - define roles, partner with recruiting to hire web developers and UI/UX designers, and onboard new team members.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the team day to day, setting clear goals and providing regular feedback.
• Provide coaching, performance management, and career development support.
• Drive capacity planning, resourcing, and utilization across the engagement.
• Establish the team's ways of working, delivery cadence, and tooling as it scales.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
2. Client Engagement & Delivery Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on delivery and day-to-day coordination.
• Run client meetings, working sessions, and status updates, setting and managing expectations throughout.
• Translate client needs into clear scope, timelines, deliverables, and actionable items.
• Own delivery governance - track progress, manage risks and issues, and lead change and scope discussions.
• Provide regular, transparent status reporting against commitments and timelines.
• Build a strong, trusted relationship that supports a long-term partnership.
3. Technical & Design Leadership
• Provide direction on frontend architecture (React, responsive design, accessibility) and guide key technical decisions, drawing on a strong frontend development background.
• Set and uphold coding standards and guide the team on scalability and performance.
• Lead and enable the UI/UX function - overseeing wireframes, prototypes, and final designs for quality and consistency, rather than producing design work directly.
• Support adherence to design systems, usability standards, and brand alignment, partnering with a senior designer or design lead to drive hands-on design craft as the team grows.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Product, Backend Engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure strong alignment between design intent and development execution.
• Facilitate effective collaboration between the design and development sides of the team.
5. Process Improvement & Innovation
• Establish and refine practical best practices for frontend development and UI/UX design.
• Promote sensible adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and design systems.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, reuse, and standardization as the team matures.
• Stay current with relevant trends in front-end engineering and user experience.
6. Quality & Governance
• Ensure adherence to accessibility (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA) and usability best practices.
• Maintain quality standards across all design and frontend outputs.
• Implement review processes that ensure consistency and reduce defects.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of experience in front-end development and/or UI/UX design.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring developers, ready to step into a formal people- and delivery-management role.
Technical Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Solid understanding of responsive and accessible design implementation.
• Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) sufficient to review and guide design work.
• Working knowledge of design systems and usability principles.
• Comfortable with Git and modern development workflows.
Leadership & Soft Skills
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to run meetings and manage expectations.
• Ability to organize work into clear timelines, deliverables, and actionable items.
• Ability to balance technical, design, and business considerations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to lead and enable a cross-functional team.
What You Can Expect
• Supportive of your career and professional development
• An inclusive culture and community minded organization where giving back is encouraged
• A global team of curious lifelong learners guided by our company values
• Ask us about our paid time off (PTO) and wellness and healthcare benefits
• And yes... a great compensation package and performance bonus opportunities, benefits you'd expect and maybe a few that would pleasantly surprise you (like tuition reimbursement)
