Job description

About RYZE:
As RYZE enters national retail, this role owns the gap between a great product getting listed and a great product getting sold: shopper marketing. The Director of Retail and Shopper Marketing builds the programs that convert awareness into trial and trial into loyalty, making RYZE feel like the obvious choice in the aisle rather than a new product that requires explanation - sitting at the intersection of brand, sales, and retail execution as the architect of how RYZE shows up at retail, on shelf, in the digital aisle, and in every customer-specific program.
The Role:
Role & Responsibilities
As RYZE enters national retail, this role owns the gap between a great product getting listed and a great product getting sold: shopper marketing. The Director of Retail and Shopper Marketing builds the programs that convert awareness into trial and trial into loyalty, making RYZE feel like the obvious choice in the aisle rather than a new product that requires explanation - sitting at the intersection of brand, sales, and retail execution as the architect of how RYZE shows up at retail, on shelf, in the digital aisle, and in every customer-specific program.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop the annual shopper marketing strategy and calendar by channel, by customer, and by season
  • Decide how to allocate trade and shopper dollars to maximize trial, drive repeat, and build loyalty
  • Set the standard for what good looks like for RYZE at retail, and enforce it across every touchpoint
  • Build fluency in retailer media networks - Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart Ads, and others - connecting brand investment to in-store execution with measurable ROAS
  • Wire retailer media to the full shopper journey, from search to shelf, rather than treating it as a standalone tactic
  • Own the tools that build presence on shelf: displays, POS, shippers, secondary placements, and branded fixtures
  • Ensure RYZE shows up in-store with the same clarity and conviction it has online
  • Build tailored programs for key retail partners that integrate RYZE's brand priorities with retailer initiatives
  • Work within retailer planning timelines to build programs that retailers want, not just tolerate
  • Manage the shopper marketing budget with discipline, distinguishing trade spend that builds brand equity from spend that only buys temporary velocity
  • Build measurement frameworks, track ROI across vehicles, and make hard calls about where to invest and where to pull back
  • Manage a small but growing team and external agency partners, setting a high standard for execution quality

Professional Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Shopper Marketing, Retail Marketing, Trade Marketing, or Customer Marketing
  • Track record developing and executing shopper marketing programs that drove retail growth, strengthened retailer partnerships, and delivered measurable business results
  • Experience creating customer-specific programs, supporting line reviews, and building integrated shopper marketing strategies across retail channels
  • Ability to translate consumer and shopper insights into programs that drive trial, velocity, and loyalty
  • Comfort using metrics such as ROAS, velocity, TPR performance, and loyalty data to evaluate performance and make informed recommendations

Personal Characteristics
  • Low-ego, team-first: The best idea wins, no matter whose it is
  • Self-starter: You see what needs doing and get after it, no waiting for direction
  • Comfortable in ambiguity: Fast pace and shifting priorities energize you rather than rattle you
  • Builder at heart: You're energized by a fast-moving environment where you help create the processes and playbooks, not just follow them
  • Mission-driven: You genuinely care about wellness and are excited to help build RYZE's next chapter

  • 401(k) with company match
