Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software is typically required. They typically volunteer their time to help hospitals, clinics, or nonprofits manage billing, insurance claims, and health data. By doing this work remotely, they can contribute from anywhere with internet access, making the role flexible and accessible. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (like ICD-10, CPT, or HCPCS), and attention to detail.
