Summary

Vivint Smart Home is hiring a Principal Product Manager to own the end-to-end setup experience for our customers. This role is responsible for how millions of customers successfully onboard and activate their devices through the Vivint mobile app. Setup is one of the most critical moments in the customer journey. It directly shapes installation time, product quality, and long-term customer satisfaction. This leader will define and evolve how setup works across our entire device ecosystem, ensuring the experience is simple, fast, and reliable at scale.

You will operate across hardware, mobile software, and field operations, working closely with sales, marketing, engineering, design, QA, and data teams. You will be accountable for setting the long-term direction, building alignment across teams, and delivering measurable improvements in both efficiency and quality of setup. This is a role for a product leader who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, and who can take ownership of a complex, high impact problem space.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the customer-facing setup strategy for all hardware devices including cameras, panels, thermostats, sensors, etc.
  • Build and gain alignment on the roadmap and map out technical integrations.
  • Work across our broad sales organization to deeply understand their pain points and understand how we can reduce time and cost with net new product innovation.
  • Drive alignment across product, engineering, data science, design, and hardware to deliver setup experiences that are usable, reliable, and trusted.
  • Create, define and roll-out success metrics for device setup and establish iteration loops, including quality, latency, relevance, engagement, and trust.
  • Drive cross-functional delivery of all setup features, from concept through launch and iteration, while owning the full product experience end-to-end.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping customer-facing products, or 3+ years' experience driving smart home and setup experiences.
  • Strong customer empathy and ability to turn ambiguity into clear product direction.
  • Proven track record of shipping customer-facing products and experiences to millions of users
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across product, program, design, engineering, QA, and sales.
  • Excellent communication and product judgment with strong writing, crisp decision-making, and clear prioritization.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort defining metrics, measuring outcomes, and iterating.
  • Comfort operating in technically complex domains, including hardware and software
