Job description

Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.

We are seeking a dynamic Ecommerce Manager to lead our omnichannel digital business, driving revenue growth through strategic planning, cross-functional partnership, and operational excellence. This role requires a data-driven leader who will analyze competitive landscapes, optimize customer experience, manage product content and lifecycle, and oversee relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring an upbeat attitude, strong analytical skills, and the flexibility to expand their responsibilities as the business evolves.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance

Strategic Planning & Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze and evaluate the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and provide strategic recommendations
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive profitable revenue growth across digital channels
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key partners to assess performance and align strategic priorities

Business Operations & Performance Management

  • Manage end-to-end omnichannel ecommerce business operations
  • Prepare business recaps, forecasts, and trend analyses to inform decision-making
  • Monitor key performance indicators including traffic, conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and cart abandonment
  • Drive online revenue growth through data-driven optimization initiatives

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Own and manage relationships with internal partners across marketing, merchandising, IT, and store operations
  • Collaborate with external partners including vendors, offshore teams, and same-day delivery providers
  • Partner with merchants and vendors to optimize current product assortment

Product & Content Management

  • Supervise item setup team to ensure accurate and timely product launches
  • Manage product information and lifecycle for all items in the digital selling channel
  • Oversee product categorization, visual merchandising, and site navigation to enhance user experience

Process Improvement & Technical Support

  • Develop and implement processes to improve item setup efficiency and reduce time-to-market
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and proactively identify potential technical challenges
  • Implement operational efficiencies to streamline workflows and enhance team productivity

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.

  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce, digital commerce, merchandising, or retail operations; omnichannel retail operations experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of managing online revenue growth and driving business performance through data-driven decision making
  • Proficiency with ecommerce platforms (Oracle Commerce Cloud, CommerceHub, Shopify, Salesforce, or similar) and product information management (PIM) systems (Syndigo, Salsify, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience using analytics tools (Google Analytics, SQL, or equivalent)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills with ability to manage and analyze large data sets, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce KPIs (conversion rate, AOV, traffic, cart abandonment) and retail math with ability to apply financial concepts to operations
  • Experience managing relationships and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams (marketing, merchandising, IT, operations) and external vendors
  • Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to lead process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority
  • Curious mindset with strong desire to innovate and improve customer experience; upbeat, positive attitude with flexibility to adapt as business needs evolve

Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.

  • Experience managing or supervising direct reports or project teams
  • Familiarity with marketplace platforms (Amazon, Walmart.com, Target+, or similar)
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies including paid search, social media advertising, and email marketing campaigns
  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and visual merchandising best practices for digital channels
  • Knowledge of fulfillment operations including same-day delivery, BOPIS (buy online pick-up in store), and ship-from-store capabilities
  • Exposure to agile project management methodologies
  • Experience working with offshore or remote teams
  • Previous experience in a high-growth or fast-paced retail environment.
