Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated M365 Systems Administrator with expertise in Exchange SE, Office 365 Exchange Online, EntraID Connect. The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of Teams, Identity Management, PowerShell, Azure, VMware, and technical writing. This role demands strong time management skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to maintaining and enhancing our organization's IT infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Exchange and Collaboration Platform Management:
    • Administer and maintain Exchange SE and Office 365 Exchange Online environments, including email configuration, mail flow troubleshooting, and migration projects.
    • Monitor and optimize email server performance, security, and compliance.
    • Provide support for Microsoft Teams, including user management, configurations, and integrations.
  2. Identity and Access Management:
    • Manage EntraID Connect for seamless identity synchronization between on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Implement and maintain identity and access management policies, ensuring security and compliance.
  3. Scripting and Automation:
    • Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
    • Create tools and scripts to enhance IT workflows and reporting.
  4. Virtualization and Infrastructure Management:
    • Knowledge of VMware and Azure environments, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
    • Conduct regular system updates, patch management, and hardware lifecycle management.
  5. Project and Task Management:
    • Manage and execute IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Handle ServiceNow tickets and tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records and resolving issues promptly.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, plan, and implement IT solutions for business needs.
  6. Technical Writing and Documentation:
    • Produce and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Write clear and concise technical manuals for both IT staff and end-users.
  7. Time Management and Collaboration:
    • Prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and implement IT solutions.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelors and 5+ years or Masters and 3+ years. Additional experience considered in lieu of experience.
    • 10+ years required relevant experience
  • Citizenship and Secrurity Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Tier 4 Public Trust.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficient in administering Trellix, Exchange SE and Office 365 Exchange Online.
    • Hands-on experience with EntraID Connect and identity synchronization.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, its integrations, and administration.
  • Programming and Scripting:
    • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, with working knowledge of Python.
  • Virtualization and Systems Management:
    • Experience with VMware and Azure administration, including virtual machine management and resource optimization.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or VMware Certified Professional.
  • Experience in large-scale migration projects and hybrid IT environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices.

Work Environment:
  • Full-time position with occasional on-call duties and after-hours work.
  • Hybrid work model (DC area or East Coast preferred). Position is 100% remote, but client needs candidate to live in the DMV office in case they need to go into the office.
