Job Details

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Security Operations Analyst to support the operations, administration, and governance of enterprise security solutions and processes. The Security Operations Analyst will play an important role in helping maintain effective information security practices, identifying potential risks, supporting system audits, and ensuring security processes align with established industry standards and organizational requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in information security, risk assessments, system audits, business continuity, disaster recovery, or a related field. This position requires strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation, administration, and governance of enterprise security solutions and processes.
  • Conduct and assist with various system audits and information security assessments.
  • Perform information security risk assessments and help identify potential vulnerabilities and areas of risk.
  • Work with external vendors to support security initiatives, assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery activities as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate security processes to ensure they align with organizational policies and applicable frameworks.
  • Analyze systems, processes, and data to identify potential security or operational concerns.
  • Support data testing and software application testing when required.
  • Assist with security-related projects and initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to audits, assessments, testing, and security processes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, technical teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to address security-related issues.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Help ensure enterprise security practices remain aligned with applicable information security management frameworks and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience conducting system audits, working with external vendors, conducting information security risk assessments, or working in information security, business continuity, or disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of at least one common information security management framework, such as:
    • HIPAA
    • HITRUST
    • ISO/IEC 27001
    • ITIL
    • NIST
    • COBIT
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent critical-thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and problem sensitivity.
  • Ability to demonstrate ingenuity and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with system analysis.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Experience with data testing or software application testing.
  • Additional experience supporting enterprise information security programs is a plus.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates without a bachelor's degree may qualify with at least 5 years of equivalent experience.
