Job description

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Manager to support land and right-of-way efforts for renewable energy projects across the U.S. This role is ideal for a project manager with experience supporting solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, or other energy infrastructure projects from early-stage development through execution.

The Renewable Energy Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project scope, schedule, budget, client communication, team coordination, reporting, and overall project delivery. This person will serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams, helping drive successful outcomes across active renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage renewable energy land and right-of-way projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, budget, milestones, staffing plans, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project teams, landowners, subconsultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including land agents, title, GIS, document management, survey, permitting, and environmental support teams.
  • Support site acquisition, lease acquisition, easement acquisition, landowner outreach, and land rights efforts for renewable energy projects.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on schedule, budget, staffing, risks, deliverables, and overall project status.
  • Review project documentation, landowner data, title materials, agreements, status maps, field reports, and project files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support contract administration, change orders, invoicing, reporting, and overall project financial performance.
  • Identify project risks, troubleshoot issues, and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting future business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Travel to project sites, client meetings, or team meetings as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting renewable energy, utility, land, right-of-way, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing land acquisition, lease acquisition, easements, landowner coordination, title, permitting, or related land project activities.
  • Renewable energy project experience preferred, including solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, gen-tie, or substation projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scope, schedule, budget, reporting, client communication, and team coordination.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with land agreements, option agreements, lease agreements, easements, access agreements, surface use agreements, or similar land-related documents.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and client relationship skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Land Management, Energy Management, Environmental Studies, Land Planning, Real Estate, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Industry certifications such as IRWA, SR/WA, AAPL, PMP, or related credentials are a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, substation, gen-tie, or other renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Leading land acquisition or site acquisition teams across multi-parcel, multi-county, or multi-state projects.
  • Working knowledge of title, survey, GIS, permitting, environmental, landowner outreach, and document management workflows.
  • Experience supporting early-stage renewable development, site control, due diligence, title curative, project controls, or construction support.
  • Experience using project management or ERP systems such as Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Salesforce, LandGate, or similar platforms.
