Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Utility Coordinator, you'll review construction improvement plans to identify utility conflicts and collaborate with utility owners to resolve relocation issues, addressing cost and schedule impacts for transportation infrastructure projects.ย  You'll serve as the liaison between design teams, contractors, and utility providers, ensure timely and cost-effective utility coordination for large-scale infrastructure projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to mitigate utility conflicts, manage utility relocations to ensure project schedules remain on track, and work on innovative and community-impactful civil engineering projects.ย 

What You'll Do:

Develop a utility conflict matrix to manage project activities. Collaborate with design engineers to minimize utility conflicts, including revising transportation improvement plans. Prepare agreements between utility companies and client partners. Develop utility correspondence logs for active projects and track utility correspondence due dates, downloads, and responses for major request items prior to scheduled due dates. Track and update project charts to ensure that utility relocations are on schedule and all dependent utilities are notified.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil, Environmental or a related engineering discipline.

Working experience or at least exposure to Utility Coordination.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Proficiency in MicroStation or ORD software. A valid driver's license with a good driving record. This job occasionally operates in outdoor work environments that may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle. This job may require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
