Ripple Effect Consulting is hiring Utility Locator Technicians in the Columbus, OH area. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get started in the utility, surveying, geospatial or construction industry. 
Utility Locator Technicians work as part of a survey team to locate and document underground utilities using GPS and utility locating equipment. Training will be provided, and motivated individuals will have opportunities for advancement.
What You'll Do
  • Locate and mark underground utilities
  • Collect field data using GPS and utility locating equipment
  • Work alongside survey crews on projects throughout the area
  • Read utility maps, plans and as-built drawings
  • Prepare basic sketches and documentation of completed work
  • Accurately record field information
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Perform outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Dependable with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to follow verbal instructions and work in a team environment
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Previous utility locating, surveying, construction or outdoor field experience is a plus but not required. Familiarity with underground utility locating equipment or GPS equipment is also helpful.
